The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts works daily toward fulfilling it's mission. In September of 1992, the school opened in Bemidji, offering private music lessons with 7 teachers for 72 students. In 1997, the organization purchased the current location at 519 Minnesota Avenue in Bemidji and became a full-service community school of the arts. Because of incredible community support in the form of time, materials, expert advice, and monetary gifts, the building is now a place to experience a wide variety of arts activities ranging from orchestra concerts and children’s productions to clay, mural painting, and other fine arts.
